Dear Friends and Supporters
This past Wednesday afternoon the Hungarian government proclaimed a national emergency in response to the coronavirus pandemic–just in time for a specially called all-staff meeting at ICSB to review our planning and preparation should the school need to close for a period of time. So, Beth and I have much work to do as we personally prepare to teach our core classes by distance learning using the online tools that are available to us through the school’s IT programs. Instead of preparing for the apologetics seminar in Cluj that was planned for the first Saturday in April (and which is now postponed) we will now be familiarizing ourselves with a new (to us) online system and then setting it up for our students to use from their homes should that become necessary.
Meanwhile, we continue to seek the Lord in prayer, not only for present concerns but also for longer-term fruitfulness in ministry. We’ve begun uploading the Biblical Counseling Training Conference videos, beginning with the first conference in Cluj in January 2018 when Dr George Scipione set out the initial framework for basing and practicing counseling ministry firmly within the revealed truth God has given us in His Word, the Bible. Together with Kyle, we are also planning and preparing for the continuation of the Biblical Counseling Program in Romania and the start of a similar program in Hungary through training conferences in Cluj and Budapest in September.
We deeply appreciate your joining us in prayer for both present needs in light of the coronavirus pandemic and for the Lord’s guidance and provision for Biblical counseling training later in the year.
“Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, o Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.” Psalm 33:20-22
